The signing ceremony took place at the Rematec trade show in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, with David Fitzsimons, Director of the CER, and Rajiv Ramchandra, Founder and Director of Re:CREATe, signing the certificate that acknowledges Re:CREATe’s membership.

The CER, based in Brussels, Belgium, is an organization committed to tripling the value of Europe’s remanufacturing sector to €100 billion by 2030. By bringing together businesses from diverse sectors, the Council facilitates knowledge sharing, champions policy changes, and advocates for remanufacturing as an integral part of the product lifecycle.

Joining the European Remanufacturing Council as an International Cooperation Member will afford Re:CREATe opportunities to engage in several activities designed to advance remanufacturing practices. These include addressing complex intellectual property issues around remanufacturing and promoting business development opportunities for member companies.

The council also serves as an insightful source for policy makers at institutions such as the OECD, UNEP, WEF, and EU, supporting evidence-based decision making. It promotes public and private sector procurement of remanufactured and refurbished products, contributing to a more circular economy.

Maintaining a strong relationship with the research community through the European Remanufacturing Network (ERN) and focusing on innovation themes with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and China Association of Circular Economy (CACE) are also core activities of the Council. Additionally, it backs the expansion of the Rematec Trade Show in Amsterdam, a leading event in the remanufacturing industry.
