Rislone has upgraded its Engine Oil Supplement with Zinc Treatment by incorporating the best of Hy-per Lube Zinc Replacement Additive to create an even stronger engine-protecting formula. New Rislone Hy-per Lube Zinc ZDDP Supplement protects against friction and wear in a wide range of vehicles, including antique and classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles, trucks, daily drivers and race cars, with gasoline or diesel powertrains.
Rislone Hy-per Lube Zinc ZDDP Supplement is a petroleum oil performance “booster” that combines ZDDP (zinc dialkyldithiophosphate), phosphorous extreme pressure agents and mixed esters to enhance regular motor oil and turn it into a high-performance lubricant that protects internal engine components including pistons, flat tappet camshafts, lifters, pushrod tips and the rest of the valvetrain in older engines and racing applications. Modern oil no longer includes the level of ZDDP these engines need.

While it is designed for engines requiring SL/CI rated oil and older (generally pre-2005), Rislone Hy-per Lube Zinc ZDDP can also be used in newer vehicles to stabilize any motor oil against viscosity and thermal breakdown. This results in improved protection against friction, especially at start-up, for less wear and a cooler-running, longer-lasting engine. The added protection can be especially important in modern high-performance street vehicles that often have more power than race cars had as recently as 20 years ago.
“Nothing has been developed in all these years that works better than zinc and phosphorous ZDDP for metal-to-metal protection inside the engine, especially for older vehicles,” explains Clay Parks, vice president of development for Rislone. “Our new formula uses a proven real ZDDP additive package that’s specially blended with a precise mix of detergents, tackifiers and esters to work together to keep the protective oil from draining off parts when the engine is off. This means the lubricant is effective as soon as the engine starts, rather than being delayed until the oil pressure comes up and starts to move inside the engine, helping to eliminate dry starts.”
The new product retains the original Rislone part number 4405, UPC and 11 oz. bottle for streamlined ordering and stocking. The package is now silver with bold blue graphics and a bright red spout that not only helps it stand out on the shelf, but also makes it easier to install the product.
Rislone Hy-per Lube Zinc ZDDP Supplement works with all petroleum-based motor oils, including conventional, high-mileage and synthetic formulas to make new oils backwards compatible for older and high-performance engines. For best protection, it should be added at every oil change. It can also be used to top off oil as needed. For cars and light trucks, add one bottle to gasoline engines from 1996 and older, half a bottle for those made between 1997 and 2004, and about ¼ of a bottle to newer engines. Diesel engines made in 2006 or earlier get one bottle for every 5.5 quarts of oil capacity. Newer light-, medium- and heavy-duty engines get half a bottle. For four-stroke marine, motorcycle, ATV, agricultural, industrial and racing engines, add 2 ounces for every quart of capacity.
Rislone Hy-per Lube Zinc ZDDP Supplement is available to distribution in case packs of six 11 oz. bottles. Like all Rislone products, it is made in the U.S.A.
