Detlef Braun, managing director of Messe Frankfurt, the organizer of the Automechanika shows, recently spoke with reporter Edgar Schmidt, of German automotive trade journal Kfz-betrieb, about the growth of the shows and its prospects for the future.
“Thanks to our international commitment, we have been able to enormously improve the significance of the Frankfurt Automechanika for international exhibitors and visitors,” Braun says. “Our trade fair brand is now known worldwide and thus stands for the innovative power of the fallow. That’s why more than 5,000 exhibitors from more than 70 countries will be exhibiting in Frankfurt for the first time this year. In addition, we expect visitors from more than 170 countries.”
“We have grown cautiously in the past and want to continue to pursue this strategy in the future. We deliberately chose the 17 venues, because we can not cannibalize an existing event with a new Automechanika. Nevertheless, I assume that we can and will continue to grow with the Automechanika.”
