At the recent MEMA OE Service Summit held at Michigan State University’s Management Education Center in Troy, Larry Pavey, CEO of the Automotive Parts Services Group (The Group), took the center stage to share insights on fortifying partnerships between warehouse distributors and original equipment (OE) dealers.
Under the theme “Warehouse Distributors: Growing Business with OE Dealers,” Pavey highlighted strategies aimed at broadening business scopes through these collaborations.
The event also saw John Washbish, president and CEO of the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, engaged in the discussions. Other representatives from Parts Authority and Fisher Auto Parts were present as well.
“Our presentation focused on how our members are committed to servicing the OES market with premium brand name products often from OEM manufacturers,” said Pavey. “Many of our members provide products to all segments of the market, including heavy duty, collision, fleet and municipality, national accounts, agriculture and off highway, along with car dealers and independent shops.
“Members of The Group can provide parts and information for all makes, providing car dealers with a source for any repair or used car that may not be the brand they sell. With the average age of vehicles growing to over 12.7 years old, there is a need for an ‘aftermarket’ solution for many repairs, and the options and competitive pricing provided by members of The Group can be an asset to car dealers and other customers.”
The MEMA OE Service Summit stands out as the sole event in the industry emphasizing on Original Equipment Service.
