The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) is hosting a free webinar for service technicians on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 4:00 p.m. ET entitled “The Refrigerant Transition Journey.”
In this webinar, Mary Koban, senior director regulatory affairs at the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), will detail the transition and outlook for R-1234yf refrigerant.
Due to the attractive low global warming potential (GWP) of R-1234yf, light duty vehicles began transitioning from HFC-134a to R-1234yf around 2011. The transition was smooth to R-1234yf with most major OEMs completely transitioned to R-1234yf in a few years. Recent environmental mandates like the American Innovation and Manufacturing Act (AIM) will accelerate the refrigerant transition in other automotive sectors. This presentation will provide a brief update regarding the regulatory drivers and what you can expect as the automotive industry transitions in other sectors.
After registering, a confirmation email will be sent containing information about joining the webinar. Those who are not sure if they can attend are encouraged to register as they will receive a follow-up email with details on how to attend a recorded session, if available.
