Fisher Auto Parts expands with new Massachusetts distribution center

The state-of-the-art distribution center is equipped with 32 loading docks and features advanced logistical and material handling technology, including picking modules, conveyor systems and warehouse management software.

Fisher Auto Parts announced today the purchase of a 217,000-square-foot distribution center in Chicopee, Massachusetts.

The new facility, located at 2189 Westover Road, will serve up to 150 stores across eight states in the Northeast region.

The state-of-the-art distribution center is equipped with 32 loading docks and features advanced logistical and material handling technology, including picking modules, conveyor systems and warehouse management software.

The facility is strategically located between three existing Fisher distribution centers, allowing for further store expansion in the region. This allows for further store expansion in Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont.

According to David Reid, Chief Operations Officer of Fisher Auto Parts, the new facility demonstrates the company’s commitment to building and expanding its distribution network.

“We believe in the adage that no matter what our lot in life, we should build something on it,” said Reid. “There are much larger competitors; however, due to the highly capable team that we are honored to work with, we can be proud of our past results as we strive for future growth. We are especially grateful to all of our channel partners, including customers, suppliers, APSG associates, and, in particular, team members for their unwavering dedication to outstanding customer service.”

The Chicopee facility adds to Fisher’s total distribution center footprint of over 2.5 million square feet, supplying 19 states with more than 92 percent fill rates and overnight delivery. The company plans to continue investing in modernization and expansion, with more than 50 new locations scheduled to open by the end of 2024.

With 500 company-owned locations and approximately 100 independent jobbers, Fisher Auto Parts is a member of the Automotive Parts Services Group (APSG) and Federated Auto Parts.
