EQUIP AUTO, the renowned international event for automotive aftersales and services for connected mobility, has unveiled a new event: THE EXTRA MILE by EQUIP AUTO.

This event is set to take place on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at La Seine Musicale in Paris.

Designed as the premier European business gathering for the automotive industry, THE EXTRA MILE will convene nearly 400 key stakeholders to discuss the pressing challenges and opportunities in the sector.

THE EXTRA MILE aims to push boundaries and strive for continuous improvement, organizers say.

The event will feature high-level panel discussions and networking opportunities, set against the historic backdrop of Île Seguin, a location steeped in automotive history. Attendees will include business leaders, decision-makers, manufacturers, parts suppliers, distribution and repair networks, institutional partners, government bodies and media representatives from around the world.

The event will kick off a year-long countdown to the much-anticipated 50th anniversary edition of EQUIP AUTO Paris, scheduled for Oct. 14-18, 2025. Topics on THE EXTRA MILE agenda include the future of electric vehicles, market dynamics, collision repair, maintenance and the evolving landscape of used vehicles.

Three keynote discussions will delve into critical issues such as the viability of the 2035 ban on fossil fuel engines, the readiness of affordable electric vehicles and the economic pressures on collision repair and maintenance markets. The event will also explore the implications of rising costs in the aftermarket sector and the impact on the affordability of used vehicles.

THE EXTRA MILE will not only provide insights into these challenges but also showcase strategies for maintaining a competitive and affordable automotive business environment. The event will highlight lessons from countries with high electrification rates, discuss levers to keep insurance policies affordable, and examine the role of digitalization and AI in repair and recycling processes.

“THE EXTRA MILE by EQUIP AUTO is an essential step to explore the future of the automotive and services sector and celebrate the milestones that have been reached by our industry,” says Philippe Baudin, Chairman of the EQUIP AUTO exhibition. “Coming together in a highly symbolic venue, we will continue to probe new horizons, in the aim of shaping the future of mobility. And all this, virtually a year to the day before EQUIP AUTO Paris 2025, the anniversary edition that we intend to be both unique and unforgettable for our sector.”

THE EXTRA MILE will conclude with an elegant evening function and grand drinks reception, providing a refined setting for participants to network and engage in further discussions.
