The South China Morning Post is reporting that DENSO Executive Director Yasushi Matsui expressed concern over President Trump’s proposed tariffs on vehicles and auto parts.

“A trade war is not the correct course,” Matsui said last week at Denso’s headquarters near Toyota City, reported the South China Morning Post.

“As long as the rules are free and fair, we have confidence we won’t lose to anyone.”

Bloomberg also carried a story on the comments.
