LIVE FROM BOLOGNA, ITALY at Autopromotec 2022: ‘Our battle remains consistent against the automaker’ – Auto Care Association President & CEO Bill Hanvey talks to Aftermarket Intel Editor & Video Host Mark Phillips about the global Right to Repair fight
Auto Care Association President & CEO Bill Hanvey told Aftermarket Intel Editor & Video Host Mark Phillips that Right to Repair is a global issue.
Hanvey was speaking at Autopromotec in Bologna, Italy, where the global automotive aftermarket show was re-convening after its last show was held in 2019.
“Our battle remains consistent against the automaker,” Hanvey told Phillips.
“Right to Repair “has been a very hot topic for us for the last 20 years, basically. And it a global issue for our entire automotive repair community,” Hanvey said. “We are here in Bologna at the Autopromotec show promoting and participating in an international Right to Repair panel. Our battle remains consistent against the automaker, and that is, they throw a tremendous amount of money, they throw a tremendous amount of lobbyists and they also know the value of that data they are capturing at the point of the vehicle.”
