Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City 2023 set to foster global automotive community, showcasing key Vietnamese industry trends

The fifth edition of Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City is scheduled to make a big return, expecting more than 450 exhibitors from June 23-25, 2023 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).

Amid robust growth prospects, Vietnam’s automotive industry is poised to witness a 25 percent compound annual growth between 2020 and 2025, thanks to a thriving domestic economy and supportive fiscal measures. To reinforce this momentum, the fifth edition of Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City is scheduled to make a big return, expecting more than 450 exhibitors from 23 to 25 June 2023 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).

The event, seen as a unique assembly for the industry, will showcase an array of products, services, and technologies. The pre-event held on 13 June 2023 witnessed Fiona Chiew, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, defining their approach. “Our three-prong strategy incorporating business, workshops and entertainment caters to the unique needs of the Vietnamese market,” Chiew said. “For example, umbrella themes across the exhibition will spotlight areas of the industry with high growth potential. In addition, we believe that adding a number of highly interactive events, for service providers, car owners and enthusiasts, can also draw greater attention to opportunities in customisation and talent in the aftermarket.”

This special edition is expected to set new records, hosting over 450 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions. Renowned for being one of the most resourceful and international automotive events in Vietnam, Automechanika Ho Chi Minh City is likely to attract a vast crowd from around the world, including conglomerates and firms from countries as diverse as Australia, France, India, Japan, and more.

From passenger and commercial vehicle sectors to manufacturing and automation, the event will cover a broad spectrum of industry themes. This diverse range will aid the Government’s goals to expand Vietnam’s influence in the global supply chain, fostering local production and boosting overseas investment.

The EV Zone will highlight Vietnam’s potential to emerge as one of the leading ASEAN states to embrace EV consumption and production. To support this, the new zone will host local and international exhibitors showcasing advanced solutions and technologies, such as the Hong Kong Productivity Council’s presentation of EV battery charging systems.

Accompanying these displays, the Digitalisation and Electrification Business Networking Event will highlight new mobility concepts and sustainability, resonating with government initiatives to transform Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi into smart cities.

Furthermore, the Automotive Manufacturing & Automation Zone is set to witness the participation of Skoda Auto, a recent entrant planning to establish a production plant in Vietnam. The Zone will see collaboration between the Vietnam Association for Supporting Industries and NC Network to bring in a group of local automotive manufacturers and Japanese joint-venture manufacturers. The collective aim is to highlight the country’s production prowess to both local and overseas audiences.

The zone will also host key speakers from industry giants like ABB and Bosch at the Automotive Manufacturing, Transformation and Automation Conference. They will discuss recent trends, opportunities, and the integration of robotics in creating smart factories.
