Alfar Capital, a Montréal-based private equity firm, announced a strategic partnership with 1-800-Radiator & A/C (Canada), known as 1-800-Radiator Canada, to establish a national distribution platform for aftermarket heat exchangers, air conditioning, emissions and rotating electrical parts for light and heavy duty vehicles.
The investment reflects a growing trend in the Canadian automotive market. Consumers are retaining their vehicles for extended periods, driving demand for repair and replacement parts to record levels. This trend is further fueled by a significant volume of vehicles sold between 2015 and 2019 now entering their peak repair and maintenance years, intensifying aftermarket demand across the country.
Completed through Alfar Capital Partners II L.P., this partnership marks Alfar Capital’s second platform investment in nine months, consistent with its mandate to build and accelerate growth for entrepreneurial ventures.
Founded in 2018 by Farhaan Thobani and Badal Davda, 1-800-Radiator Canada operates nine branches across Ontario and Alberta. These operations are supported by a central distribution hub located in London Ontario. The company serves a diverse client base including independent repair shops, body shops, dealerships and fleet operators.
Founders Farhaan Thobani and Badal Davda will continue to manage the day-to-day operations of the business and have reinvested a significant portion of their equity into the new partnership. This continuity in leadership aims to maintain the company’s established operational model.
